This new HSE approved qualification came into effect on the 1st October 2009, along with new guidance on assessing the needs of First Aid in your workplace. Your risk assessment of First Aid needs may well identify the need for Emergency First Aider's, either as an addition to your First Aider's, or where the risk of your business is low, it may well identify them as being sufficient, without the need of additional First Aider's.The course programme is designed for individuals who wish to gain knowledge of emergency procedures and attain a recognised qualification in First Aid. By the end of the course, candidates will be able to demonstrate the essential knowledge and skills needed to deal with life threatening emergencies in the workplace.

Certification

18 Hours usually over three days. Can be provided as a three day block or a programme of shorter sessions.Course Description
It is a requirement of Health & Safety law that employers provide a safe and healthy environment for their employees. If the assessment of First Aid needs highlights the need for qualified First Aider's, then this course will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.Certification
All successful students will be issued with a First Aid at Work Certificate, lasting for a period of 3 years, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualifications. This certificate would enable the holder to act as a First Aider in the workplace under the 1981 (First Aid) Regulations. In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of about 3 hours, although it is not mandatory.HSE First Aid at Work Refresher

12 Hours usually over two days. Can be provided as a two day block or a programme of shorter sessions.Who should attend?
Delegates must be in possession of a valid (unexpired) First Aid at Work Certificate issued by any HSE Approved training organisation.Course Description
An HSE approved course that complies with the Health and Safety Regulations 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice L74 guidelines for the re-qualification of First Aid at Work certificate holders. First Aid coverage in the workplace is a legal requirement.This comprehensive 2-day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition to this, should there have been any change to protocols during their initial qualification, then this will be updated.
