Oxygen Therapy

(2 hours)

Book On-site training nationwide or join our open courses in Sussex & London.

Where an employer's assessment for First Aid needs (or compliance with Confined Spaces Regulations 1997) identifies that oxygen therapy should be available for use by First Aiders, this course gives them the necessary training.

This training can be undertaken as an extension to basic first aid training or as a separate course. All students are issued an Oxygen Therapy manual.

The tutor will carry out an on-going assessment as well as a short written test and successful students will receive a certificate valid for three years.


Outline of the Course

This is a practical hands on course and includes:

  • Legislation
  • How we breathe
  • Safe use of Oxygen Therapy equipment
  • Cylinder storage
  • Connecting equipment
  • Contra-indications
  • Assessment.
